    America- Debut album by America

    Americas debut album, featuring Dewey Bunnell's "A horse with no name". Three guys Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell and Dan Peek met in England while their fathers served in the Air Force. The trio fusing their aucustical guitars into harmonys that have become rock classics! This is a must for any AMERICA fan! While Dan Peek stepped out of the trio, Dewey & Gerry still put out the hits!! "Here & Now" their latest album in 2007 is a mix of old & new, bringing new generations to their music. I recommend this album!! I also recommend seeing them in concert!!!! Tell them the "motorcycle child" sent you!!

    The Real McCoy!

    Succinct! This is the harmonic Crosby Still Nash Young folksy guitar song writing sound of the early seventies, done quite uniquely, with an interesting nothing too fancy you are there mix. Doesn't seem overtly produced, too popish or commercial, it has integrity and depth -the real McCoy! Indispensible. Lots of great tunes to discover and enjoy as well as the obvious hits, which are not to be ignored. If you only buy one America cd, get this this one for sure. Greatest Hits is a classic too, but with time can border on the trite and flakey. This one is highly recommended!

    How it all started

    I have to admit, I have only been a real America fan since 2000, when their Highway Box Set came out, but since then I have bought everything they have. And they started out with this in 1972 - the self-titled debut album. And, it is great, with it's folk/acoustic guitar sound. Of course the whole world knows A Horse with no name. But other standouts are I need you, Sandman, Three Roses & Here. These guys were at the top of their game in the 1970's. And it all started with this one.
