      Fabulous collection of early country folk rock

      While The Monkees at one time were considered to be just a manufactured television band while the truth is that they made some brilliant music. Some of their best material in my opinion was actually written by Michael Nesmith, who is one of the pioneers of what we now know to be "country rock". The first two albums on this collection are absolutely brilliant. The writing, the playing and Mike's voice is in fabulous form. If you are a fan of Flying Burrito Brothers, The Byrds and that whole period of country rock then you will not be disappointed in this boxed set.

      I already owned all the LP's but I bought these to play in my van. Mike was my favorite Monkee & his solo albums were all really good, this is just a stroll down memory lane for me.

      Awesome and many songs to hear

      I never knew Michael was recording songs until I heard his interview on Dwight Yoakam's Bakersfield Beat on Sirius XM and was truly amazed at his talent. My two favorites so far are Joanne and By the Light of the Silver Moon, quite lovely.
