Why get a new Screwtape Letters ? I love the feel and look of this annotated edition. …I love the addition of red ink inside this book for the notes. There are a couple of hundred helpful annotations that first-time and veteran readers will find intriguing., C. S. Lewis understood, like few in the past century, just how deeply faith is both imaginative and rational., [ The Screwtape Letters ] show[s] his ability to dramatize: to set forth an attractive vision of the Christian life, proceeding by means of character and plot to narrate an engaging story, everything colorful, vibrant, and active., Apparently this Oxford don and Cambridge professor is going to be around for a long time; he calls himself a dinosaur but he seems to speak to people where they are., C.S. Lewis is the ideal persuader for the half-convinced, for the good man who would like to be a Christian but finds his intellect getting in the way.

Synopsis
A Masterpiece of Satire on Hell's Latest Novelties and Heaven's Unanswerable Answer C.S. Lewis's The Screwtape Letters has entertained and enlightened readers the world over with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life and foibles from the unique vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below." At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, C.S. Lewis gives us the correspondence of the wordly-wise devil to his nephew Wormwood, a novice demon in charge of securing the damnation of an ordinary young man. The Screwtape Letters is the most engaging account of temptation--and triumph over it--ever written., The Screwtape Letters by C.S.  Lewis is a classic masterpiece of religious satire that entertains readers with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life and foibles from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below." Screwtape Letters is about a letter from the Devil to his nephew, Screwtape. He talks about his favorite tools to use on humans, i.e., disappointment

The book is in great condition! I read it years ago and probably have a copy somewhere around here, but I couldn’t put my hands on it, when I wanted to re-read it. After I read it this time, I will pass it on to someone for their reading pleasure. Thank you for such great quality. I would order, again!

    • Challenging read

I ordered this book after hearing a recommendation on a TV worship service. Although I haven't read very far, the concept of a minion of the devil communicating with a lesser demon about a human is quite intriguing. I believe that I may receive some ideas about how to thwart Satan by doing the reverse of what the writer recommends to his underling! I can't lose by reading C. S. Lewis.😊

    • Interesting

It's a reverse of Christian love from Satan's view point - written I believe to warn us that Satan is always looking for our week spots to tempt us away from focus on God and eternal life in his presence.

    • It will make you think

This book is a fictional series of letters from a senior demon (Screwtape) to his nephew (Wormwood) as the younger demon tries to corrupt the soul of an average person so as to send him to hell. In the process Lewis covers many ways people can end up on the wrong path without even realizing it. It will definitely make you think.
