    Not just to hang washing!

This in a well-made little device. I bought this to use for a portable ham radio antenna. You simply replace the cord with antenna wire. I was able to fit 21m in without any trouble. I'm going to mark off the resonant lengths for 40, 20 and so on with an indelible pen. As a bonus you can use the washing line cord for guying!

    Less than expected

I expected it to be stronger. The unit came apart as soon as I tried to pull out the very thin line and I had to reassemble it before the first use. The "brass hooks" were small cup hooks, which I replaced. Not worth sending back, but I'm thinking of upgrading simply to a length of parachute chord I can buy at the Dollar Store.

  • Not Retractable On It Own - Have To Wind It In

I thought this was a retractable clothes line ( where once you unhook it , the sting retracts back on its own just like a retractable key chain ) but it doesn't you have to wind it back manually. So disappointed. The sting is also the most flimsy, thin string I've ever seen. Its less than a quarter the thickness of your average shoe lace! I hung a pair of jeans and a shirt on it and it snapped in half. I would have been better off hanging my clothes from dental floss.

  • Retractable clothesline

I like it!! Its convenient and you can take it camping. But i bought it for my basement, its cool, just a little flimsy. The plastic cover keeps fallong off but the line works, and thats all that matters! 😁👌

  • Atypical use for this product

I am NOT a camper, but I use these for winding up 156 foot long 1/32"D 7x7 braided stainless steel wire ham radio antennas. I remove the cloth line, add a few thin plastic spacers under the main drum/spool, then secure and wind onto the spool my wire. With careful handling of the winding and unwinding, this makes a VERY convenient portable antenna or counterpoise for ham radio operations. At the price I paid for a few of these they are inexpensive gift items for fellow ham operators. You're welcome to see how I did this via my YouTube or QRZ pages. Craig KC1ELZ
