    Sturdy, compact 2TB / USB3 storage device

    I've gotten a lot of bad electronics from eBay suppliers — drives that don't work or have less memory than they claim or can't be reformatted. So I'm really happy to get this nice quality, quiet and compact seagate external drive. It's a full 2TB storage, the USB 3 is up to speed and I'm already using one as a backup drive and keeping one for later. A great deal and a great value, I'll get more of these over time.

    This model DOES work for PS4!

    Note that this does void your warranty. I bought this model (STDS2000100) for the sole purpose of taking it out of the caddy and upgrading my PS4 to 2 TB. You can easily do this. For windows users, install the paragon driver, format the drive to exFAT with the disk management tool, pull it out of the casing by using a credit card, removing the tape, and gently prying off the usb adapter to expose the hard drive itself. After that, it's just a matter of swapping the drives and installing the firmware. I could not be happier and it's a much cheaper option! For mac users, format the drive to exFAT with a formatting utility and follow the same steps as above. Amazing purchase, and you can reuse the housing for any laptop hard drive!

    Just What I Needed

    No flaws so far, just plug-and-play. Fits my entire database in my pocket. I notice no lag or issues accessing my data, regardless of which machine I'm using (a Mac-biased statement, as the drive is formatted for Macs). A great little upgrade to my portable data management system!

    Needed replacement

    dropped my old 1TB drive which then stopped working, bought the Seagate as a 'time machine' for my Apple, took some time when it initially set up, runs quite fast now. Good value (I think)
