I was hesitant to buy an "Off brand" attachment for my mixer, as all my accessories are factory, and I like that~ The boxes all stack, and it's convenient to store them~ This was just the roller, no box, (Shipped in bubble wrap, I think) and even included the manual and brush! The price was right, and this was the piece I needed the most! I've used it at least once a day, some times twice! Works like a charm~ No Hiccups! Beats the original.
At the date of purchase this was the most inexpensive stainless kitchen aid beater on EBAY or Amazon and it is well worth it. It's a more rough steel than polished but that really means nothing in terms of function. It fits 4.5 and 5qt bowls as described and resolved the issue of paint chips that the stock ones get after years of use.

Once and done Stainless steel.
I have bought 3 of these to replace the coated flat Padel beater that comes with the KitchenAid mixer resin being the coating flaked off my wife's original beater and I prefer food grade Stainless Steel buy it once and done the second thing that I spent money on in my life.

Not for a 1/2" shaft!
After I drilled out the shaft, which only measured 3/8" to fit my 1/2" mixer, it worked great! It was really tough to drill through the stainless steel, though.
