Good recipes but there's no Revolution here
I bought this book because I enjoy the 30 minute meals TV series, I think Jamie's kinda funny & his passion for food really shines thru. I like the recipes - they are easy to create & I have cooked several so far, a few were lovely & will no doubt become favourites. I like to format of the book too - including shopping lists is a great idea & means you are unlikely to miss an ingredient. However, I don't believe that the multi tasking skills required to get a freshly cooked meal on the table quickly is a "revoloutionary" idea. My mother cooked this way & it's the way I've always cooked. I believe that being "a good cook" simply requires the ability to get various types of food all cooked, hot & on the table ready to eat at the same time. i bought it for a Christmas present and my grandson was very thrilled to get it. It's a great book for young people starting out on their own.
