My Trumpet had been sitting in its case for the past 18 years and some parts of the bell and the mouthpiece insert had started turning black or having a more nickle coloring. I was afraid it would be forever tarnished. Even after washing and soaking it remained black colored. After I cleaned and polished it with this jewelry polishing rag I was surprised to find it took all the black off!
