Product Information

Based on the Broadway show from the Damon Runyon short story and filled to the brim with Frank Loesser tunes such as "Luck Be a Lady" and "Sit Down, You're Rocking the Boat," this outrageously comic film featuring Marlon Brando's bold musical debut is a colorful tale about gamblers, a feisty Salvation Army lass, and a dance-hall girl with a pining heart. Veteran gambler Sky Masterson (Brando) takes a bet from Nathan Detroit (Frank Sinatra) that he can win the affection of a "soldier" (Jean Simmons) in the Salvation Army, setting himself up to lose both his money and his heart. Romance is the last thing the gambler and the missionary expect, and they fight against their attraction for all they're worth in glowing singing and dancing numbers. Love proves to be contagious as spicy dancer Miss Adelaide, in a role re-created for the screen from Broadway by showstopper Vivian Blaine, is determined to get her fiancé, Nathan, to the altar one way or another. Stubby Kaye and B.S. Pully also reprise their stage roles in this glorious Cinemascope film that earned four Academy Award nominations. GUYS AND DOLLS consistently ranks among the most popular film musicals of all time.

    One of the classics

    Guys and Dolls is one of my all-time favorite movies! The music and dancing is great and Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando are at their best in this movie. Just love it! Old-fashioned fun!

    A classic for a reason

    It's been years since I've seen it, but the day I got it in the mail I watched it right away and remembered why I loved it in the first place. A musical is not just about the music, or the dancing, or the script, or the acting... it's everything with "chemistry" and "flair"! A good musical is entertainment exponential, and Guys and Dolls delivers as only the classics can. We don't need the story to be raw to be real, we need the story to sweep us away so much that we could almost believe this bizarre musical world is real all by itself, if only for a time. Superb dancing, great character delivery, engaging script, catchy music, reasons to root for the characters and enjoy them without qualm... back when they gave us musicals with an actual plot, remember those? Entertainment, folks. ...

    A classic must see for anyone who enjoys corny musical

    Who wouldn't like watching a self absorbed Marlon Brando and rest of the ensemble entertain with bygone lingo and arousing song and dance. My teens and I love this movie. Makes a great gift to anyone interested in theatre. Memorable lines- Sky Materson(Brando) to his sorry excuse for a gambler friend Nathan Detroit(Sinatra): "One of these days in your travels, a guy is going to show you a brand-new deck of cards on which the seal is not yet broken. Then this guy is going to offer to bet you that he can make the jack of spades jump out of this brand-new deck of cards and squirt cider in your ear. But, son, do not accept this bet, because as sure as you stand there, you're going to wind up with an ear full of cider."

    "Guys and Dolls" Is really A Great Musical Of the 1950's When Samuel Goldwyn Made it With The Great Stars Like: Marlon Brando After He Made "On The Waterfront" At the Time. and Frank Sinatra After He Made "Suddenly" (That was Not a Musical). "Guys and Dolls" Is a great Musical and Comedy of all Times. The Songs Was Made By Cole Porter. Don't Miss out Having "Guys and Dolls" on DVD/Blu-Rays and Collectable VHS,Betamax and Laserdisc on Ebay.
