  • classic metal

I am one of the last people that would be expected to like Def Leppard's brand of heavy metal music. This album, released over 20 years ago when I was an old man of 30, provided me back then with a tolerable initiation to this genre of music. I have no idea what the expert critics say about it, but for my money it's one of the better albums from the 80's. Unlike a number of other metal bands, Def Leppard produced a sound that came across as coherent and well designed. The band doesn't simply produce as much and as loud a sound as it can. There are actual melodies on this album, and many memorable ones at that. "Love Bites" and "Pour Some Sugar On Me" are the two tunes that brought me to the group, but the rest of the album is strong as well. Of course there are powerful guitar riffs, ...

  • The Way Rock Is Meant to Be

The defining album from one of the greatest hard rock bands of all time...Hysteria was the record that propelled Def Leppard from Superstar rockers to beyond! From its hard rockin' classics Like "Armageddon It" , "Animal" , and the arena rock anthem "Pour Some Sugar on Me" to the slow burning power ballads "Love Bites" and "Hysteria", this record truly had all the makings of a superior rock album. I've seen Def Leppard live in concert twice, and both times they played 6 songs from this album, more than any other! (Rocket, Animal, Hysteria, Armageddon It, Pour Some Sugar On Me, and Love Bites) Also "Pour Some Sugar On Me" was recently voted the #2 Greatest song of the 80's by VH1. So, if you're up for some high energy arena rock, then grab a copy of "Hysteria" it won't disappoint!!!

  • Hysteria caused Hysteria

Hysteria was the first album made after Rick Allen's tragic car accident in which he lost one of his arms. This was the followup album to Pyromania. Hysteria produced 7 hit singles and sold over 17 million copies. There songs such as Love Bites, Pour Some Sugar on Me, Rocket and others can still be heard of the radio today and has endured the test of time almost 20 years later. A must have album for any 80's rock lover. It's one of my favorites in my collection.

  • Awesome album - Def Leppard rocks the 80's and beyond!!

Def Leppard's best album! All the songs are excellent! Def Leppard at their peak! Although they are still good today and are still performing today, they were at their peak in 1987! This is my 4th copy of the album I have worn out the other 3 and I needed to replace them. There isn't a single thing I don't like about this album I will continue to buy it as long as Def Leppard is still performing and beyond. Def Leppard is a band that has withstood the test of time and proven they were not just a "one hit wonder" they keep putting out great songs and keep putting on great performances. Awesome band, a must see!
