    Just the thing needed to install a modern stereo in an old S10

    Definitely the very thing needed to replace original 1.5 din stereo with either a single or double din. I bought this kit for use with a Chinese Android double din. As the Metra description states the Chinese units have outside dimensions slightly larger than those the frame was designed for. This does require opening up the insides for the frame included with this kit. I happen to have a mill that worked well for this purpose. If you are installing a Chinese stereo I would recommend checking fit then taking your head unit and this kit’s frame to someone with a mill to have the frame custom fitted if needed. This kit’s brackets are strong and perfectly designed for the ’96 Chev S10 and its like makes & models. My install required cutting out a section of a plastic form that channels a ...

    Do not buy if you have a 96 Chevy s10 standard cab 2.2

    I purchased this kit to install my pioneer avh 4700 double din DVD player in my 96 Chevy s10 standard cab 2.2 and found out that the mounting depth of a standard double or single din CD player is about 2.5 to 3 inches too shallow for this kit. You need a single din bubble face kit to make it work. This kit says that it fits my truck. Buyer beware.

    Fits like a glove

    When I first bought the truck they had a aftermarket stereo in it. It look like Joe Jim Bob Down on the Corner installed it the chainsaw Purchase dash kit it fit like it should and really made the whole interior look better. Easy to install with clear directions
