Ebenso sind die zur Zeit der Handlung existierenden Vorurteile gegenber Juden dargestellt. Robin Hood tritt unter dem Namen Locksley" in Erscheinung. Die normannischen Gegenspieler von Ivanhoe haben alle wohlklingende Namen, die verdeutlichen, dass der Adel Englands damals noch Franzsisch sprach (Brian de Bois-Guilbert, Maurice de Bracy, Philippe de Malvoisin, Ralph de Vipont, Reginald Front-de-Boeuf Herr von Torquilstone). In Abwesenheit Knig Richards sttzt sich dessen jngerer Bruder Johann Ohneland auf die Macht dieser normannischen Ritter und Barone. Ein interessanter Gegensatz zu der dsteren Gestalt des normannischen Tempelritters (Brian de Bois-Guilbert) findet sich einerseits in dem Helden Ivanhoe und andererseits in der tragischen Rolle der Rebekka.
