About this product

Product Information

Join Arusha, Mosi, Tumpe and their Maasai friends as they set out on a counting journey through the grasslands of Tanzania. Along the way, the children encounter all sorts of animals including elephants, lions and monkeys, while counting from one to ten in both English and Swahili. The lively, rhyming text is accompanied by an illustrated guide to counting in Swahili, a map, notes about each of the animals, and interesting facts about Tanzania and the Maasai people. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each book will be donated to the African Wildlife Foundation, to aid their wildlife conservation and community building efforts in Tanzania.

  • Beautiful Arwork -- Cute Counting Story

I love this book and I love the idea of introducing worldly topics at a very young age. How cool to be able to count in Swahili? Very beautiful pictures.

  • We All Went on Safari

It's Julia Cairns 'perfection in her delictable water colors that compelled me to purchase this book. The cover drew me right in and said you have got to buy this one. If you want something for children about wildlife in Africa, Tanzania, counting to 10, Kiswahili, or simply a chance to bask in the rich colors of Cairns canvas this book is a superb choice. I will never get tired of seeing something by this artist. Fantastic book. A keepsake for any home that delights in owning picture books.
