Product Information

Rampart is a one- to two-player game that combines strategy and action as you take the role of a medieval warlord. Build fortifications and position your cannons in order to destroy the enemy's fortress or defend against an invading armada. Once the onslaught ends, quickly rebuild and extend your territory before the next volley strikes. Victory gains you dominion over all you survey. Gameplay is fast and quickly learned. Rampart offers three levels of difficulty, three different two-player game lengths with six different battlefields, and the ability for each player to customize the control pad for their own personal feel. Each round of play is divided into three phases: Cannon Placement Phase, Battle Phase, and the Build and Repair Phase. Use strategy to complete the Cannon Placement, fast reflexes to destroy your opponents in Battle, and puzzle-solving skills to Build and Repair.

    Very good version of a classic!

    Graphics of this version look better than most versions,along with classic top-down view theres even a "3-D" type of play featuring mode7 scaling and rotation that the snes is known for, Its fun as a novelty but the classic top-down view is where its at. The best part is when you win against a human player you get to make them walk the plank, poking them with your sword till they fall of the plank and into the drink. Lots of fun, other versions may have better overall cutscenes, but the walking the plank scene makes up for it! Till the 360 arcade gets its own version, (one can hope,,,right?) this is the best version. HIGHLY RECOMENDED!

    Really cool game.

    This is a very cool game from my youth. It is tough just like all older games are now days. Why did they seem so easy then. No checkpoints no saves how did we do it. This game would be a great addition to any gamers collection.

    I LOVE THIS game

    I LOVE THIS GAME! A lot more fun than the original Rampart for the nes. You can drop propaganda on ships and make them work for you . if playing two player you propaganda the opposing player to make their cannons shoot at their own castles. Easy to play for all ages and VERY ADDICTIVE!
