On trouvera ici un jeu biographique tres libre sur Ernst Kantorowicz (1895-1963), auteur du fameux livre Les Deux Corps du roi. Son parcours avait de quoi intriguer: de la Posnanie a Princeton, en passant par l'Allemagne de Weimar, ce medieviste autodidacte, essayiste devenu erudit, fut un reactionnaire volontaire dans les corps francs, mais se mela plus tard aux liberaux et marxistes americains dans la resistance au maccarthysme. En outre cet homme, sans doute plus hautain que discret, effacait ses traces et ne s'etait guere explique sur cet itineraire. L'auteur propose alors des vies paralleles, pour faire entrer le possible aux cotes du reel, miner le privilege de l'individu par une proliferation de personnages, empruntes a des contextes ou des occurrences historiques ou fictionnelles. En rapprochant Kantorowicz de Toller, von Salomon, Scholem, etc., on tente d'extraire l'individu de sa bulle artificielle, sans pour autant le jeter dans la multitude.Il s'agissait alors de retrouver un schema existentiel dominant, au fil des textes, en recherchant moins le secret ou le cache que l'implicite, les plis d'une vie. En effet, la formule existentielle majeure, dans cette oeuvre, semblait etre celle de l'appartenance: il importait a Kantorowicz d'appartenir a une totalite souveraine, l'Allemagne, ou l'Empire, ou l'Universite. Ce desir d'appartenance, qui traduit une tension entre l'etre-dans et l'etre-dehors, est a la racine de la metaphore corporelle dans l'oeuvre de Kantorowicz. Cette thematique de l'appartenance construite peut contribuer a faire piece a la desastreuse notion d' identite .

The seller is one of the best there is - high quality books, reasonable prices, securely packaged.
I do, however, recommend some changes to their shipping - they show a shipper (SortHub) on eBay, but the tracking # they email is for a different carrier. It’s difficult to know where my purchase is.
This time, it was delivered a week late. In the grand scheme of things not a big deal. But it shouldn’t be this difficult to accurately track my purchase.
