  • Not Asimov's Best

    My husband, a long-time fan of science fiction in general, asked me to find this book for him because he'd never read it. We both read it and I'm sad to say that it's not exactly Asimov's best. There is a strange anti-Semitic theme to the book, as well as Asimov's love of socialistic worlds. The plot is full of characters that are not developed enough to really make the reader care about them, and in general, the philosophical ideas seem fairly muddy in and of themselves. Honestly, it's difficult to even figure out what the author thought about the ideas he presented and the whole story seems to be an excuse for thinking them out on paper. I'm all for that kind of thinking, but I'm not sure the result merits reading. I would recommend skipping this novel, especially if you're trying to get ...
