Nice improvemnt for my 89 Goldwing
This was easily installed, and the bike immediately felt more stable cornering. The machining fit is impressive! I was not impressed with the 1/4-28 screws replacing the OEM M7 screws. M7 flat head screws are not common, and expensive if you can find them. Having a maintenance tech back ground, I noticed the M7 size was very close to the tap size for an M6 Heli-coil. Also 1/4" screws are nearly the same size as M6 screws. So I installed M6 Heli-coils in the lower retainer. My local Ace Hardware store had stainless steel M6 socket head flat head screws, These fit nicely in the brace countersunk holes. Now I am not concerned about stripping out the holes in the lower retainer. This was easily installed, and the bike immediately felt more stable cornering. The machining fit is impressive! Fantastic upgrade!
This is my first upgrade on my 1997 Honda Goldwing 1500 SE. It is absolutely wonderful. Was easy to install. I kept mine in the freezer overnight. Remove Caliper covers. Loosen pinch bolts and axle but do not remove. Remove the fork seal cover and install the brace. Replace fork seal cover. Torque the axle and pinch bolts, Bolt the caliper covers back on. Only had to lightly tap the brace in place with the handle of my screwdriver. Major improvement in handling! The slow speed improvement is unbelievable and the high speed improvement of handling is amazing. I wish I knew about this sooner. GREAT, Great product.
