Despite being the 16th entry, this Nintendo game still feels original thanks to a host of inventive ideas. One of these ideas involves the use of a unique game story that strays from the typical conventions of the original Zelda series. Rather than focus its tale on defeating the evil Ganon, the game instead revolves around new antagonist characters Demise and Ghirahim. Additionally, the adventure takes place in the sky kingdom of Skyloft rather than Hyrule. When Zelda is kidnapped and taken to the world below the clouds, Link must venture into this mysterious land to rescue her.The first thing gamers will notice about this Nintendo release is that the controls are unlike any other Zelda game. While past Legend games like "Twilight Princess" and "The Wind Waker" had you attacking with the buttons, "Skyward Sword" is different. This Legend game uses the Wii MotionPlus to have gamers control Link via motion control on the Wii remote. You'll swing the Wii MotionPlus controller in the direction you want the hero to swing. For example, swing from left to right and your character will do the same. This innovative control scheme allows for precise attacks against enemies in the game.Navigation in "Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" for Nintendo Wii is also different. Rather than walking from location to location, Link uses a giant bird to fly. When a location of interest is discovered, Link will plummet from the bird to explore the world underneath the clouds. "Skyward Sword" is a huge game with many different areas to find in Skyloft. If you ever feel lost at any time, you can ask Fi for assistance. Fi is the spirit who lives in your sword and will provide help in many ways. For example, she can guide you to your next location and point out a weak spot on a boss.At its core, "Skyward Sword" for the Nintendo Wii retains similarities to past games in the franchise. Players will discover classic weapons, such as the bomb and the bow. New weapons are available as well, including a whip that lets you grab items from long distances. On his quest, Link will explore treacherous locations, such as the Eldin Volcano. In each location is a dungeon that will reward him with new items and weapons. These dungeons also house dangerous bosses that drop items necessary for rescuing Zelda. This adventure will take most gamers around 40 hours to complete. IMO this game is as good as gets on the Wii. Great graphics for the system and time, great use of the Wii motion controls, and of course the story is amazing. If you are a Zelda fan, play this game. Easily in the top 5 Legend of Zelda games.

Game was for another country, but works in USA Wii and is all in English (as description stated), so no worries. Game is awesome. Not too hard, not too easy; just as I would have expected from a Zelda game! The motion controls do take a little getting use to, but playing other Wii motion plus games helps. Just make sure you have your setting right for your distance to your screen. It helps a lot! Better then the last but not perfect.
It's a great game. Puzzles are plenty and quest/objectives are laid out fairly well. It's not too scary for my young son to watch while I play. Some of the usual later Zelda game problems are still persistent while they did take care of others. They can't seem find a balance between showing the grand scale of the playable world without making it a pain to travel from one end to the other. Auto travel or way-points or warp would be great. In a lot of ways there aren't enough monsters. It seems too sparse and open. I'm glad they fixed the fairy annoyance issues, the lame songs, and objective tracking through reminders and their radar like seeking mechanic but it just comes up short in a lot of ways and I wonder how much actual time is spent waiting through mini cut scenes every time ... Pretty fun
Good game so far! I'm about 3/4 of the way through. The controls were a bit wonky at first, but once you get the hang of it a lot of fun can be had. Good story with memorable characters. Can't wait for breath of the wild! Gonna be twice as epic!

Overall, the game is a wonderful masterpiece and it is a game not to be missed by any fan of The Legend of Zelda series or any video game fan. The story is also a compelling one to the point where tears are shed. At the right price, this game can grace any gamer's game archive, and it can help to get in the swing of things.
