About this product

Product Information

Magnacarta 2 is a console-style role-playing game with deep, complicated characters and a detailed, manga-inspired art style. Players lead a customizable party of characters in the exploration of dangerous territories, and in battles fought through a system that combines turn-based tactics and flowing action. There are no presentational breaks between exploration and combat, maintaining a cohesive quality to the developing adventure. The action is seen from a medium-distance, angled perspective by default, but a free-moving camera allows the player to assess each situation from the best viewpoint. The game's storyline is a sweeping epic drama of love, honor, and betrayal, featuring noble heroes in a time of legends. Voice-acted cut-scenes highlight key moments in the plot. As in earlier Magna Carta games, including the PS2's Tears of Blood, players make difficult decisions that influence the development of the story and the fate of the entire world. Built on the third-generation Unreal game engine, Magnacarta 2 was developed by South Korea's Softmax, creator of the series, and published in North America by Namco Bandai, exclusively for Xbox 360.

    Strategy RPG!!!

One of my favorite Classic RPG Games for the Xbox 360. Loved the open world and strategy based battles. Crisp graphics, excellent story telling and long hours of game play. Bandai Namco did excellent work on this RPG game. Microsoft Xbox needs to connect with Bandai Namco for a Magna Carta 3 for Xbox One X and in 4K. Best RPG for Xbox 360.

  • Overall, this is a good game worth buying. Very Good all-rounder RPG.

Magna Carta 2, Action RPG, 2009 As a profesional RPG player (if there is such a thing) I know plenty about RPGs. To make a successful RPG you need 3 different crucial aspects -Story -Setting -Gameplay As such, I will descibe where this game explodes and dwindles in each areea -Story: The story behind this is your typical RPG experience, but playing plenty of RPGs, it's not about how typical the story is, but more about the journey to get to the end and all the happenings in between. Yes, there was a Magna Carta (on the PS2), but you need not really play that game to play this one. The characters are unique but sometimes you may feel that they are just too simalar to many other RPGs out there. Thus this section will get a 4/5 for having a good story, but not a out of the ...

  • Improvement

As someone who has played several Softmax games (Rhapsody of Zephyr, War of Genesis 3, Magna Carta: Crimson Stigmata), I can say that, at least, Softmax is improving its game development skills. The first Magna Carta game to hit stateside was (imo) a disaster to play through. I loved the rhythm-combat style but the loading times made the game really annoying to play. Magna Carta 2, thankfully, has much more reasonable loading times, a more traditional battle system, and is less of a pain to play through. As expected, there are lots of details in the character design as it's Hyung Tae Kim art that's really pushing the series. What I really missed is a great epic story. Magna Carta 2 has all the elements of a typical RPG and that has made it... typical. The story of War of Genesis 3 is ...

  • Overall fantastic game!!

The character designs area just beautiful, especially for the ladies ;-p (Hyungtae Kim you da man! lol), besides that, the overall design of the world and its inhabitants are top notch. The game play is fantastic, especially with the combat system: you'll love it! The story is great stuff too, very enjoyable! People say this is Korea's "Final Fantasy" and you know what, that concept is definitely not far-fetched. It will take a bit of time before the developers of the Magna Carta series to truly master their craft and be able to create a game that makes headlines similar to the greats such as the Final Fantasy series, Dragon Quest series, and so on. It's all good, because it took the makers of Final Fantasy three installments before they finally hit the nail on the head with number ...

  • Amazing

Bought the game as I am an avid RPG player, and it was well worth it. The graphics, sounds, characters, and story line were all incredible. The combat system is definitely something new, but takes no time at all to get accustomed to, and perfect it. I would also advise finishing as many of the sidequests possible, as it adds so much more to the game and story. Overall a 10/10 from me.
