    Children writing their own stories

    I love to hear my 3-year-old grandson making up wonderful stories in between the first and last pages of these books. The author give us the first page, and then the child gets to study the pictures and write his or her own scenario. Our little guy adds something exciting or different, every time he opens the cover! This is the greatest tool for encouraging imaginative thinking. I decided to buy it because a friend recommended the series. Pre-reading is the most useful - and the most fun - activity a grandparent can share with a toddler. As a former teacher, I only wish I had found Alexandra Day much sooner.

    Excellent

    I love the author Alexandra Day who writes about Carl the Rottie. It is such a great illustration of how a Black Dog and Rottweiler name of Carl has such compassion and gentleness and love for who he lives and takes care of. We own 2 and love them dearly. They are like big Teddy Bears and we know of their love and kindness with children. We live in a neighborhood where we have children all around us. They love the big black dogs and love all the kisses they get. I would recommend this book to any parent or collector who loves dogs and family.

    This is a great book.

    Carl Makes a Scrapbook is a great book because the pictures are wonderfully drawn/water painted. The book is designed like a scrapbook and there are actual pictures in the book. My niece loves the carl books and this is one of her favorites because of the pictures.
