a battle worthy, if imperfect, work tool
I can drop this phone in a puddle, wash it off, dry it and stick it back in my pocket without a care. It's a flashlight, a clock, a compass, a datebook, a camera, and I can receive - and send, albeit clumsily - short text messages. This unit has a defective interior microphone, so I have to keep it on speaker phone to use the outside mic in order to be heard. Bad service
I got the phone express and got it one the right day I was suppose to . I went to use it and it was defective , I called the number to send it back. Got and answering machine left a message and never heard back from anybody, weird thing the company is in New York but had a Minnisota phone number. I'm not impressed with their service. I'm sorry I tried to buy a phone this way. Never again.

Very rugged phone
The phone is really rugged. In my engineering class I placed it in a bowl of water. We then called my phone and it still worked! I've thrown it across my room to prove how strong it is. It's INDESTRUCTIBLE! There are barely any scratches on it! There is one flaw: the software. Why does verizon contract Casio to build indestructible phones, yet program it with terrible software? The network speed is incredible. It downloads media faster than any phone I've used. However for a messaging phone the processing is weak. Sometimes when I get into texting the phone will shut off when messaging too much. To fix this all I do is turn the phone off for a few minutes. When I turn it back on, it always works perfectly for several hours. Likewise, because it is waterproof it means that nothing gets in ... The phone is really rugged. When you put that much padding on a phone some sound will be compromised. Granted Casio compensated by putting in one of the loudest and highest quality speakers I've ever heard in a cell phone, however the microphone is difficult to work with. You have to absolutely make sure the microphone is level with the corner of your mouth. Otherwise they cant hear you. Once you figure out how to talk into it, its is incredibly easy to use and truly an amazing phone. The only "real" problem is with the texting. However, this phone has been out for a while now, so soon Verizon should be releasing a software update for the phone which will hopefully fix the occasional text overload the phone can get. This is a great phone and I'll never buy another!

Whether you’re talking about the Casio G’zOne Ravine C751 or the Ravine 2 C781… they’re both excellent Phones. I don’t want to go with a “Smart Phone” and just like having a Basic Phone that makes calls and maybe send a text or two. The BONUS on these Phones is that they are very durable. I’ve read many… many reviews on these Phones and all the negative thing about them. I’ve had no bad experiences with my phone. I bought my first one when they first came out (full price). After my friend saw mine… she bought one. Hers did stop working a little while ago and she did get a replacement (that she did not like) … I offered her mine telling her I had a spare (only way she would take it). She still has my original one I bought “NEW” and still going… I did end up buying a few off of the ... Whether you’re talking about the Casio G’zOne Ravine C751 or the Ravine 2 C781… they’re both excellent Phones. A few times that I forgot to plug in the phone lasted the second day. I only use my phone for Calls & text. I do not go on line or use it as a GPS. I’m also not a big Phone user. So your results may be the same as mine. I go down a ramp off of a straight truck and have dropped the phone more than a few times. This phone takes a beating and has never given me a problem. As with my fist one… I did buy a Leather Turtleback case for it. After years of use and handing it over to my friend… It looked as new as the first day I bought it. Still had the plastic label on the back. I would highly recommend this phone to anyone that just wants a phone to make Calls & Text on.

Battery Issues
This battery will not hold a charge, only about 24 hrs life without use of the phone, any use of the phone knocks the battery down in just a matter of hours. The rest of the features of the phone I love.
