I received precisely what the seller advertised on the item's listing. My purchase, an electric tea kettle, was listed as brand new and open box, and it is unmistakably brand new, even including original packaging. The box had been opened prior to my unboxing, but all parts of the kettle were present in the box and I'm ecstatic to have found the kettle I wanted on eBay. I do hope my kettle works, but if it doesn't I know it's an issue with the manufacture and not because the sale was open box.
