Ability to understand what is going on.
The DVD's are in excellent shape and I was very happy. Unfortunately, they do not have subtitles so I can't hear what is being said as I'm deaf. I am supposed to have a 3rd attempt to have a Cochlear Implant and if I do and if it works then I will hopefully be able to hear. I have Set 14 which is the first ones they put subtitles on, but I love John Nettles and of course he is in all sets before 14. Thank you.The DVD's are in excellent shape and I was very happy. Midsomer Murders is The Quintessential Village Mystery
Be warned, if you start watching the Midsomer Murders series, it's entirely likely you will plunk down your hard earned cash for the entire series. The film series stars John Nettles as Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby, and Daniel Casey as Detective Seargent Gavin Troy. The series is based on Caroline Graham's village murder series though if you have already read the books you will notice some slight differences in the series. For example, Sgt. Troy is more likeable in the film series though perhaps not quite as interesting as in the Graham novels. It doesn't matter really because if you are a fan of the traditional village mystery a` la Agatha Christie, look no further. Don't try to compare Barnaby to Poirot and Troy to Captain Hastings because it would be a waste of time. ... Be warned, if you start watching the Midsomer Murders series, it's entirely likely you will plunk down your hard earned cash for the entire series. Wonderful series!
We love this series. I have head some folks think the series is a little bland and slow moving and perhaps it is. But we love the British comedies and mysteries. This is a particular favorite. The actors are superb, the stories interesting. Ok it does not have the gory visual violence of some mysterys on TV now a days but that is one reason we like it. DVD's came fast, very well packaged and in perfect condition. We are pleased and planning on buying a set at a time to get the entire collections.We love this series.
