Trower rocks
Robin Trower was often considered a Jimi Hendrix copycat, but if you listen to what he's doing, the sound is similar, the licks aren't. He's not the guitarist that Hendrix was, but the combination of his "more than adequate" technical skill, his sense of effect, and Dewar's voice gives a really terrific, if somewhat dated at this point, sense of energy and excitement. He's not perfect, and some of his solos lose a bit of coherency, but most of the songs on this album are a thrill for those of us of a "certain age" that remember how powerful this music was when it first came out. If you're in your middle ages or someone who appreciates a unique period of music, you should enjoy this one. Unless, of course, you're a big Four Seasons ... Bridge Of Sighs [Remaster] - Robin Trower (CD 1999)
I like this edition a lot because of two main reasons: 1) It's the original album remastered with high quality standards 2) The live bonus tracks included are songs from the same album. I don't those silly editions that include songs from 10 years before or after the album was recorded ! Here is a good example, you have the chance to listen to the album with an outstanding sound for it's age and great versions of some of the songs of the album played live. The press and artwork is not awesome but it's serious and fills my expectations. GOOD RELEASE, unfortunately other album of the same artist have not been released in a similar way, i.e. LIVE and/or TWICE REMOVED FROM YESTERDAY. Hope usefull.
