Picking up where NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD left off, and still offering no explanation of why the dead are walking the earth, DAWN OF THE DEAD plunges headlong into one of the most violent and original horror films ever made. After securing an apartment building overcome with flesh-eating zombies, two Philadelphia area SWAT team members, Peter (Ken Foree) and Roger (Scott Reiniger), flee to a television station, where they escape in the station's helicopter with Francine (Gaylen Ross) and Stephen (David Emge), two station employees. Seeking refuge from the zombies and the ensuing hysteria, they land on top of a Pittsburgh area shopping mall, despite the fact that the undead seem to be flocking there. What begins as a stop for supplies becomes a longer stay as the four become embroiled in a futile war within the mall to keep their flesh to themselves and remain alive. The film's relentlessly disturbing and innovative gore effects are one reason to see DAWN OF THE DEAD, but those who can stomach the endless barrage of blood and gnarled zombie faces will be rewarded--and possibly surprised--by what the film says about human nature and life within a consumer-based culture. Any aficionado of horror is likely to place the film high on their list of revered cinema.

Great quality purchase. The 2004 Ultimate Edition is extremely rare to find enough as it is, especially at a fair price and in good condition. Overall the movies themselves are fantastic. With each of the three versions of the films and their own unique take, it’s safe to say that whomever purchases the Ultimate Edition you will be thoroughly satisfied. Special features that are included on the set are over all interesting. The set comes with a fourth disc that goes in depth with the making of the film, interviews with cast and crew, and a tour of the mall where the movie takes place. Other features that are included on the three main disc are Audio Commentaries, Production Stills, Original Trailers, Biographies on the late George A. Romero and Dario Argento, and much more. Again, it’s hard enough getting a hold of this one specific film enough as it is, so getting the Ultimate Edition is pretty risky and can be kind of a challenge, with some sets going for hundreds on eBay. The movie has been out of print in US for about a decade now because of the film’s producer due to his negligence and greed. I recommend actually trying to buy this film anyway you possibly can via video stores or online which can be an obstacle, but if you’re horror fan, zombie fan, or a Romero fan it’ll definitely be worth it.

Awesome retro horror!
Best deluxe edition ever! Four discs containing the theatrical version, extended version, European version, and documentaries. Compare to the U.S version, the European version plays different music scores. It also came with a comic and index. If your someone like me looking to see uncut extended scenes and more than just the theatrical movie, this is the one. GET THE DELUXE EDITION!

When it comes to gory and very bloody Movie Flicks, I am not a total fan of it at all. However, in 1978 when I saw sequel to George Romero's (1968 NIGHT of The Living Dead) classic cult flick DAWN of the DEAD. This was a movie that really scared the HELL out of me. But being only 16 years old at the time, I was scared of my own shadow. NOW nearly 30 years later, I have added this Movie Pack of Dawn of the Dead to my collection of rare and hard to find movies. And I have to admit, its very, very entertaining and very funny as well. Romero has really created a very classic horror movie that should go down as one of the all time very best, and it should rank in the top five of all time (The Exorcist and Frankenstein as the top two). Romero has really blended the gory blood with some very funny state of the art pranks with his cast of ghoulish flesh eating zombies who by far look as though they are winning in this flick. With the Army and the Police losing on the battle field, two police officers from a SWAT team along with a woman reporter and her boyfriend take off in a helicopter to get away from the zombies in the big city and instead find themselves stopping at a huge shopping mall and thats when the REAL FUN begins. Our heroes take on the whole army of zombies in the mall when their greed overwhelms their fear of being torn apart by the monsters. Human greed really is shown here in this flick. The mall is then over run by an army of motor cycle gangsters who raid and pillage every thing they can from the mall when they invade it. The zombies are hacked, cut, shot, burned, blown up and just totally abused by the sick and warped motor cycle hoodlums. And to the point that its so bad, that it becomes funny and humorous because Romero does show the side of our inner beings of what real monsters human beings can be. Too me, this shows WHO the REAL MONSTERS are and not the zombies. As one of the main characters in the movie DAWN of the DEAD said, "When there is no more room in Hell, the Dead shall walk the Earth!" How right he is!!
