I didn't get it
Let me start by saying that I LOVED the movie. Usually, when you enjoy a movie you are bound to hold to the old cliche "the movie was good but the book was better". In this case, although the book was okay, I thought the movie was much better. The book was funny in parts and obviously was the inspiration for a hilarious movie, but on the whole, I was disappointed with the book. If you enjoyed the movie, I would recommend the book just for a different slant on the story. Apparently, people have been talking about this book for years. I guess I just don't understand how the book falls so flat with such a great writer. The story, the characters, the imagination, all was well done, but at the end of the book, I was just left feeling empty. I couldn't believe it. The ... Let me start by saying that I LOVED the movie.
