Great game, but some maintenance may be required.
Much in the vein of Dark Tower and The Omega Virus, Mall Madness is a family electronic/board game hybrid that challenges players to optimize their money to be the first to get 6 items from the mall and exit. You'll find most of the strategy is based around weighing the advantages of a closely located store and a possible sale that is further away. The rules are fairly simple as most of the complexity of the game is handled by a central battery-operated game master of sorts. Movement, random events, and results from purchases and bank withdrawals are all handled by the computer module. It's a 20-30 minute casual play that shows off the fun teenage mall culture of the 80s and early 90s. Setup of the game takes a bit as little cardboard pieces slide into plastic walls and cardboard walkways ... While this is usually repairable, you will want to investigate this possible issue (like I had with my copy) prior to storage. Good game. Too bad it's collectable, thus inflating the price. Fun for the whole family and it's an easy teach. Takes a bit to setup and might require some repair, but it's worth it.
