Armageddon Can't Stop This Guy
While it may not be everyone's cup of tea, The Book of Eli takes a look at what could happen after a nuclear war eradicates most of the life on Earth, and different paths the survivors might take. It is a film that shows both the best and worst of human nature, but manages to leave a mostly optimistic message that good does triumph over evil in the end. While there is very little character development in the film, it is well-cast, with Denzel Washington as the enigmatic Eli (on a mission from God) and Gary Oldman, who is on the same mission, but for Satan. There is a plot-twist at the end which most people won't see coming that is similar to the one in the Sixth Sense as far as the shock value. You'll probably find yourself watching the movie a second time, looking for clues that you ... The movie itself is excellent and is why I ordered it. The video quality of this blu ray recording however is deplorable! Looks like a pirated rendition of the movie. The satellite broadcast version is far superior. Very disappointing!

Once Gary Oldman has the book he finds he can't read it. Denzel heads to old Alcatraz with the book.
