    Cable Modem for TWC

    I purchased this modem after reading many reviews about whether it worked with Time Warner Cable or not. Comparing the price of this modem to the similar SB6141 model, this was a much better buy. The SB6141 averaged around $50 while I was able to purchase this model for under $30. The two modems have similar up/down channels, so on paper one really wasn't that much better than the other. This modem is intended to work with Cox Cable. When I called into Time Warner to have this modem set up, I simply provided them the MAC ID and everything was good to go. So far I have had no issues with the modem and when plugged in directly, I got a speed test of 110mb down/ 13mb up.

    Cheaper to buy than to rent from C-- cable.

    My cable company was going to charge me $10.00/mo. to rent a modem. There are a lot of "surfboard" modems on eBay, so I'm guessing a lot have been manufactured, used and no longer needed by customers. This model (SB6180) works perfectly with my WiFi router to create a hot spot for all my devices here at home (it's not a WiFi modem by itself).

    Perfect for small family.

    Although I made the mistake in thinking this was the 6121 which I told ISP it was so they sent firmware update to it and it has worked just fine . It has been over a month and still seems to be keeping up worth 3 people online with no bogging down.

    Great value, sharp looking Cable Modem

    This modem connected to our Wireless router with ease and performs fast. We have the least expensive cable high speed internet - getting 16.74m download speeds. The indicator lights on the front are very sharp looking and very informative about the connectivity state of the modem. Takes very little space, a great bargain for a very powerful modem. Very happy with this product! :-)

    SURFBOARD SB6180

    This modem works well and is easy to use. Only problem I have had is the power supply slowly died and cause it to malfunction with flashing lights. But it was easy fix by replacing the old power supply and was up and running again. Good work horse.
