About this product

Product Information

In this compelling biography, Andrew Boyd tells the story of Baroness Cox's humble beginnings as a nurse and her subsequent nine-year fight as a sociology lecturer and Labour supporter against intimidation by the hard left. Caroline Cox's secret expeditions to buy freedom for slaves captured by Arab traders in Sudan's war against black Africans. This is just one campaign in the Baroness's tireless patrol of the world's least glamorous causes. Her elevation to the peerage by Margaret Thatcher enabled her to draw greater attention to the causes she espoused. And she was not afraid to put her own life at risk to do so, as she frequently did during her numerous, hazardous treks into first Communist Poland and Moscow, then warring Nagorno Karabakh, Burma and north-east Africa on behalf of Christian Solidarity Worldwide.

Very fairly priced. Speedy delivery in 3 days. Strong PVC packaging was used but unfortunately there was a hole in the bag and damage to the book cover as a result (minor) which may have been averted by a layer of bubble wrap or cardboard packaging on this heavy hardback book with sharp corners. This is feedback not a complaint as I appreciate using more robust packaging could result in higher prices. Would appreciate if this seller left feedback on me as a buyer please!

Quick delivery and carefully packaged. Book condition was as described and a nice little surprise of it being a hard back. Yet again I would advice for you to remove previous price stickers as it is disheartening to the buyer.

Item arrived on time but will you tell seller to pack in something better than plastic bags as damade has occured as shown in transit. Royal Mail tend to not take enough care and chuck other stuff on top which causes dents etc
