      Stupendous story.

      Having read this many years ago and also having seen the TV series, I wanted to reacquaint myself and I was not disappointed. A very powerful story superbly written - her first novel! Quite amazing. Unfortunately, the copy I bought was rather old and is falling to pieces but I shall keep it nevertheless.
