  • Great little pedal-sized Guitar Amp

Great little "stomp pedal" sized Guitar Amp. Pros: 1) powered by common Boss type 9v PS (center neg.). 100 ma is adequate. 2) SURPRISING Volume for 6w (obviously high speaker efficiency is key to max volume) - 8 or 16 ohm loads. 3) Decent cleans up to about 12 o'clock or so; fairly nice warm break-up begins after that. 4) Seems to be pretty pedal friendly 5) Price to Performance ratio is amazing 6) Runs cool due to Class D design 7) low cost entry to stereo set-up 8) How about the Vooster 5v to 9v converter and a cell phone super battery for untethered amplification? Cons: 1) Probably limited to practice room and coffee shop gigs unless speaker miked to P.A. 2) Head Phone output O.K. but not strong enough for use as line out to console (Head phone sound and tone doesn't match-up well ...

  • incredible

today I played my Danelectro Lonhorn Bass VI through the VHT Redline 6, which is the size of standard MXR pedal, through a 2x15 Univox cab (wired at 4 ohms). I had a Caline Orange Burst Overdrive (alternately I used a Caline English Man Distortion) in line before the VHT pedal amp. I was treated to the absolute best bass sound I've ever heard. Huge, loud, roaring sound with the volume on the Caline and the VHT at halfway. Must have been 75dB. Very loud. Enough to rehearse with a drummer. I also played the pedals through a 2x12 guitar cab wired for 16 ohms. Great sound there also. For under $40 and needing only 9volts, tis is the best value guitar/bass/keyboard amp I am aware of. Works great with a lithium ion battery.

  • Neat idea, horrible sound.

I wasn't expecting much out of a cheap pedal amp. That's exactly what i got, not much. Has no treble even with the tone maxed. Very weak output, muddy muted tone... even with the volume maxed, the "overdrive" sounds like what it is, weak solid state clipping. It would only be useful as a headphone amp, and bad one at that. There are better headphone amps for a lot less. Horrible tone, seriously. And i'm saying that knowing full well how cheap it is. Absolutely not worth trying. I'm glad i bought one, only because i will steer clear of any VHT products in the future. I would be ashamed of this if it were my company's name on it. Sad but true. It's that bad.

  • VHT has a gem!

Great value for the money. Plug in and play without needing to lug around heavy equipment. Great to practice and rehearsals when in intimate sessions. Probably could have good use in the studio as well.
