Excellent camera. Make sure you have an FTP server or large scale hdd storage, 4TB or larger. Average file size for Still image capture is about 10 MB
I've had other IP cameras before and I still use some that are 1 megapixel and 3 megapixel I was looking for something with high resolution and this is definitely high-resolution the only drawback is you need gigabit hardware and a super high-speed connection if you're uploading to the web. Average still capture file size is 10 GB / file so the daily capture he is about 20 GB 4 normal security cameras and about 200 GB per day for an active Street with a hundred cars per day. This uses 2 terabytes a day on my FTP server and I highly recommend either an FTP server that is local or a hard disk drive storage unit specifically for IP cameras Make sure you purchase a gigabit speed p o e router or switch and use gigabit wiring. and your internet connection should be a hundred megabytes per second ... And they have a 2 megapixel and 4 megapixel option made by this company I currently use 1 megapixel and 3 megapixel cameras and I will most likely use a 4 megapixel or 3 megapixel just because this uses so much storage space I have to pay more for my security company to monitor this I was amazed how much storage space this requires When I saw the files are 10 megabytes in size each I was dumbfounded But if you have the money to pay for the storage or you have an on-site FTP server these cameras are the way to go One recommendation for a business or high security outdoor environment I would purchase IR flood lights that are not visible to the human eye A 300w IR floodlight will make it look like daytime on camera even in pitch Black That is the only thing if you have a spot light in the field of view it makes the images blurry at night In the areas I have backlit with the camera in front of the white spot lights I don't have any problems But for a front porch auraria where you have a light shining into the camera you will have some blurred motion there are lots of features in this camera and it takes a while to go through everything but take your time go step-by-step don't rush it give it a couple days to set it up end you will have everything you need. I usually don't do a review like this but this camera is exceptional As far as I know this company was affiliated with axis. I have 5 Axis cameras and they are nice but they are big. These having domes and a small footprint make them easy to hide I have cameras facing every direction I highly recommend having a camera facing each direction on each side of your house or business In each quarter having a camera facing down the side of the building is the best set up it is amazing how much water to camera scan miss that having four or six or eight you get a full picture of what happens and I've had three accidents were people have run into my building and had the footage and was able to have the police track down two of them end did not have to submit to my insurance. These cameras and the external Security storage pays for itself in one year The two crashes combined caused $4,000 worth of damage and they were minor And the amount of crime that I have deterred cannot be understated. The bad people know to stay away and I see them walking down the street and they turn their head away and pull their hoodies up so their face is not on camera and that is priceless For your business it is a good investment and for your home especially in times like this having the cameras and a security system and putting signs up makes the difference between your family being victimized versus the bad guys going to the next house or the next street If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will try to help but I'm not affiliated with the company or the seller. I remember my first camera that was 180 x 320 resolution and we have come a long way in a short time. If you're worried about what will come out next year or five years from now I would not worry because you won't outgrow this camera and unless they have something out of Star Trek I don't think the normal user will need anything more powerful than this in the next two decades. I have backup power 4 the camera and the internet and I recommend buying an APC unit to power your internet connection and your router and your Poe switch so that in the event of a power failure you can get notified and the equipment will stay running 4 eight or ten hours The wattage uses low power for the cameras so a 2000wh backup unit should work well It also regulates the power and smooths out any glitches that brownouts and voltage spikes cause I hear the backup power unit kick in at least once a week fur anywhere from 5 seconds to 20 seconds I used to have issues with the cameras locking up or cut it off photos and I thought it was the cameras until I installed a ups and that fixed
