  • The Slowest of the HP films

I'm sure my fellow obsessed Harry Potter fans have already seen the movie, so they know. For those who aren't so enthused that they could actually stand to wait to see it, I'll say this, hopefully you didn't make the mistake I did of re-reading the book right before you go. While I'm sure I'll appreciate it more the next time I see it, the first time around was tainted by the humongous holes in the storyline. Now, I realize these are long stories and need to be edited for the big screen; but, at the very least, an extra 30 minutes could have been added to the movie to make it 3 hours, not unlike similar movies of such grand nature. Secondly, a scene that was added could have been cut to include scenes that actually existed in the book, scenes that were much more important than the scene ...

  • Harry's getting old

It looks like we can add another one of these to our DVD collection of the adventures of everyones favorite wizard, Harry Potter. All the original cast from the Prisoner of Azkaban returns which by now you should know who they are and trouble is brewing among the magic community and amongst us regular people aka The Muggles as the noseless Dark Lord Voldemort is causing havoc and it's up to harry and his friends to thwart Voldemort and his minions. Theres not really much to say about this, it's all the same magic spell conduring, broomstick riding, Quidditch playing "You know who-ing" as we have seen in the last 5 films but as always there are some differences. For instance they are now consuming alcohol as all 18 year olds do in England. The movie itself looks like your are viewing it ...

  • Harry Potter and the Half-finished movie!!!

If you loved the book like I did, this movie is a great addition to the movie series, but I think alot of what made the book great was left out. On many occasions I would prep myself for a scene I had imagined in my head before the movie came out, only to be dissapointed that they left out that scene all together, or cut it extremely short. I know that the movie has to be edited down for time, but why not just split the movie like the last book? Dont get me wrong this is a great film, Ive watched it several times, but I think its only cause the family and I are huge Potter fans, and its something to watch to pass the time, hopefully since they are splitting the last book into 2 movies, our favorite parts wont be left out, or at least only a few will.

  • continuous play

I especially like the fact that once you get past the previews and video game commercials at the beginning of the DVD and select the Play to get the movie started you don't have to keep selecting it to get the movie to play again. I love Harry Potter and I use it to play at night to help me sleep. Without having to select play when the video is finished I'm not woken up by an annoying interlude waiting for the play selection. It just continues to recycle. Being that it was previously viewed, its in very good condition. The case may not be the original but that doesn't matter to me.

  • Disappointing, Slow, Mediocre Acting & Special Effects

I have been waiting to see this movie since last summer. I understand why it was not highlighted at the level of the previous series. This was excruciating to sit through, I was waiting for something exciting to happen but nothing ever did. There was so much to the book; which I read, but the movie did not even graze the texture and substance of the book. All the three major characters, Harry and his two friends were uninteresting., and it got boring to see Granger and Weesley misunderstanding relationship and even worse was to see Harry and his slow teenager/young adult awkwardness with his young relationship with Ginny Weesley and other love interest. Worse was not getting any of the important characters, Haggert, Snape, McGonnigle more substance in the movie. I did not care about ...
