About this product

Product Information

Its cool gulf breezes lured him from a life of danger. Its dark undercurrents threatened to destroy him. After ten years of living life on the edge, it was hard for Doc Ford to get that addiction to danger out of his system. But spending each day watching the sun melt into Dinkins Bay and the moon rise over the mangrove trees, cooking dinner for his beautiful neighbor, and dispensing advice to the locals over a cold beer lulled him into letting his guard down. Then Rafe Hollins appeared. How could he refuse his old friend's request-even if it would put him back on the firing line? Even if it would change forever the life he'd built here on Sanibel Island? Sanibel Flat s featuring ex-CIA agent Doc Ford is the first in the series by bestselling author Randy Wayne White.

Thrift.books stickers are the worst. Without GooGone one would need to leave them affixed!

  • Exciting Story

Since my favorite place is Sanibel Island, FL I decided to read Sanibel Flats. The writer is a man, writing about a male main character, all from a man's perspective. I usually don't like that style, and would liken it to a Micky Spellane type of book. The story is full of intrique and action and would make a great Harrison Ford type movie. Even though its not my style to read, I'm reading another of Randy Wayne White's books "Captiva." They are fast reads, like Danielle Steele romances, and I've grown to know the main character Doc Ford and his friend Tomlinson. I can skim read or browse through the "male" parts that are uninteresting to me. Ha!

  • Dr. Ford Saves a Friend's Child

This is my first Randy Wayne White novel. I enjoyed most of it. Some X-rated descriptions and live action.( If that bothers you then this book is not for you. ) Great writer that did alot of research or had outstanding knowledge of marine life, ect. Dr. Ford is an outstanding character along with his friend Tomlinson. Central America is definitely not a place I would like to live or even visit. Good book.
