Perfect item, good quality. Superb replacement for the original equipment, screw fixing holes are a perfect match for original fixing screws. Just be careful when screwing into place as the screws create a small amount of swarf inside the housing which could jam in the gear teeth. Arrived earlier than expected. Packaging could be better as the box arrived crushed and damaged, but it the important item inside was undamaged and works perfectly. Overall very pleased.

    Dorman trunk lid pull down.

    Pull down motor looks like original. Just needed the plastic housing, but you can get this complete unit for about the same price. This is a name brand part, (DORMAN), but as with most parts it is outsourced. But then again the one that came on it from the factory may have been made in the same place. The car is an 1988, the wheels on it came factory, made in JAPAN. Outsourcing is nothing new to the automotive industry, just a whole lot more of it now days. I am happy with my purchase, quality, and price. Would buy again.

    Noisey, but works.

    The motor and casing install and perform the required function on my 1992 Cadillac Brougham d'Elegance. However, the motor sounds very loud and not as smooth as my originally installed GM piece. Unfortunately, when you order a brand new unit from a GM dealership, the unit you receive will be exactly like this one (but $30 more expensive). All in all, it was a good value for the money and will serve the purpose until I get my original motor rebuilt.

    Great Replacement Part

    This kit was exactly what I needed to repair the trunk latch assembly in my 1986 Iroc-Z. I had to very slightly sand the new plastic guides that go in the tracks that let the assembly go up and down. They were a little too snug at first, and I was afraid it would stress the motor too much. So between the light sanding, and applying the proper grease, this is working just as good as new. It took me about 2 hours to rebuild everything and get it adjusted properly. Its not too difficult. You'll just need to pay attention to the details.

    Works great Better than OEM

    This is a quiet assembly, it is an b.c. exact match to the original but the housing plastic is better. The OEM housing was hard clear plastic (brittle and prone to breaking). This house uses a firm but pliable black plastic which should resist cracking better.
