"What can a book written in the 1920s tell modern investors about their finances? A whole lot if it's George Clason's delightful set of parables that explain the basics of money. This is a great gift for a graduate or anyone who seems baffled by the world of finance and a wonderful, refreshing read for even the most experienced investor."- Los Angeles Times, "What can a book written in the 1920s tell modern investors about their finances? Its philosophy worked for me then, and it will work now for anyone with the good sense to stick to it. I think it ought to be read by every young man or woman with ambition to make something of life."-- Chicago Daily News "Recently, several readers asked me for recommendations on books that introduce teenagers--and even pre-teens--to investing... My favorite, and one that I always mention, is The Richest Man in Babylon . Though published nearly 90 years ago, the financial advice dispensed by author George S. Clason will always be relevant to a new generation of readers. Set in ancient Babylon, the characters learn simple lessons about money and investing throughout the collection of short stories."-- Chicago Tribune "Full of time-tested advice on saving and investing."-- The Washington Post, "What can a book written in the 1920s tell modern investors about their finances? !!!!!! READ IT NOW !!!!!!

This book should be mandatory reading in high school. I gave this book to both my sons over 20 years ago and they are both "free men" now. If you love your kids, have them read it!!!! I suggest reading no more than one or two chapters a day to let it marinade in your brain.

    Different from the photo

The only reason that I’m giving a 3-star is because I did not receive the book that’s pictured. I was shopping for that particular book but was sent a different issue. Book was brand new however. I guess I’ll keep it but overall good purchase.

  • It really works, I know from experience.

It exceeds all one's expectations. This is no regular book on managing money better. No! Somehow by practicing it's simple prescriptions (behaviors) it cranks up your subconscious mental powers to begin attracting money and prosperity and the peace of mind that goes with it (where at least in my case constant paycheck to paycheck often nightmare stress used to be the SOP). "Coincidences" soon begin to happen to you regularly where money just drops in your lap that never used to happen before, over and over, that blows your mind. But you don't rely on coincidences, your financial situation begins to get solid. That was my experience. But there is a catch, it's not enough to just read it, you need to practice what it says you need to do (but the good news is that isn't hard).

  • Required reading for my Kids

In my household there are 2 books that are required reading for my kids. First is the bible. Second is the Richest man in Babylon. At age 12 or 13 they are able to grasp the content/meaning of the book. It has kept them out of financial trouble well into adulthood. When I've learned of their financial struggles, I've gifted several friends with this book. Each has thanked my later. It's content really works.

  • Fantastic

I read it 50 years ago. My regret is that I didn't follow the advice given in the book. I am now buying up copies and sending them to my grandchildren who have a chance to capitalize on the wisdom in it. Super easy to read and the parables are classic.
