    Rock Island Line

    This book was re-issued following publication of Driftless by David Rhodes.I needed to read more by this author and loved both books. He is a great story teller and you get to really care about the characters. Despite more than 30 years between the two books, the stories are timeless. People are still the same despite the changes in society. I was delighted to find my favorite character in Driftless to have a larger part of the story in Rock Island Line. Rhodes' stories are not "happy ever after" stories, they are more true to who and what we are. I so totally enjoyed his stories, I would be so happy to find a copy of his "Easter Island" which doesn't seem to be available any longer.
