About this product

Product Information

A woman diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder reveals her harrowing journey from abuse to recovery in this #1 New York Times bestselling autobiography written by her own multiple personalities. Successful, happily married Truddi Chase began therapy hoping to find the reasons behind her extreme anxiety, mood swings, and periodic blackouts. What emerged from her sessions was terrifying: Truddi's mind and body were inhabited by the Troops--ninety-two individual voices that emerged to shield her from her traumatizing childhood. For years the Troops created a world where she could hide from the pain of the ritualized sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of her own stepfather--abuse that began when she was only two years old. It was a past that Truddi didn't even know existed, until she and her therapist took a journey to where the nightmare began... Written by the Troops themselves, When Rabbit Howls is told by the very alter-egos who stayed with Truddi Chase, watched over her, and protected her. What they reveal is a spellbinding descent into a personal hell--and an ultimate, triumphant deliverance for the woman they became.

    The mind does things we can imagine to keep things going

    The story is unbelievable. I started saying prayers for all of the people involved. I do recommend this book.

  • A true story of how multiple personality disorders.....

    My sister suggested I read this book. I am glad she did. I purchased it from half . com and loved it! This is a true story of a lady who developed multipple personalities from her childhood abuse from her father. Today Truddi gives lectures on this subject and is coincidered one of the most abused children who survived their abusers. This book deals with vivid recalls of childhood abuse, childhood sexual abuse, mental abuse, and blocking things out leading to Multiple Personality Disorder. Trudi has over 100 personalities who protect her daily. This book is one of the best and most vivid I have ever read. A must buy book. Trudi was also the pioneer of study on this disorder.

  • A+++

    Great used book. Exactly as described. Look forward to buying from again. Already several chapters in.

  • Book poor condition

    The story itself was very interesting. I liked it. I was disappointed in the condition of the book itself. It was old, the pages yellowed. It should have been priced one dollar.
