I have replaced this door for the 4th time. The original door was a poor design and far to weak thus it constantly breaks. Every one that I know that has this same truck all have had to replace this door. Right out of the box one can see that extra material is used to strengthen the doors weak area. Its been in the truck just one week so its too soon to tell if it will last, but I expect it will, just due to it being a heavier better built door.I have replaced this door for the 4th time. 2005 Dodge 2500 blend air door...
Better and stronger then OEM. Remove the glove box to see. Drop the fan blower and use that opening to remove and replace the door. Kinda tricky to see and feel with only two hands and two eyes but it can be done. Be patient with it. The adapter from door to motor is metal, not plastic. So don't reuse the plastic one that is somewhat difficult to snap out of place but it can be done. Get a bright drop light and work it out. It was well worth the time and money spent. Ours was broke within 4 years after we bought the new Dodge.Better and stronger then OEM. Remove the glove box to see. Drop the fan blower and use that opening to remove and replace the door. SO much better than the original
The door was cost effective and of great quality. I received it in a timely manner. Installation was not as bad as I feared but not terribly easy. My 2004 Dodge 2500 is not easy to access the damper but I did it without cutting plastic as recommended by the door manufacturer. I dropped the fan motor than fished the damper (without the metal shaft) up into the location after extracting the original broken damper. With some plastic loosened and bent out of the way, I was able to remove the damper motor. I have long, skinny arms which helped. After extracting the white plastic part (equivalent to the metal part of this door), I was able to install the metal part and it went back together pretty well. There are youtube videos of the process but none were as easy as the technique I ... The door was cost effective and of great quality. I received it in a timely manner.
