    great history lesson for little kids

    I bought this for my great nieces and nephews. I wanted something to teach them about 911 on their level. Its a great story and lots of pictures. I love this book...I bought 4 of them for gifts.

    9/11/2001 for Children

    The importance of the event which occured on 9/11/2001 can not be minimized and Ms. Kalman has found a compelling way to tell this incident throught a story line which children will be able to identify with. Her gifts as an illustrator who commands the gift of putting both word and picture together makes this a must read for children who will all grow up in a different world because of that day. If you think you should stay away from this topic for children, you will change your mind after you read this work. Get it!

    FIREBOAT by Maira Kalman

    This book is one of my son's FAVORITES. Not only is the book about the famous fireboat that did so much for New York City, but also, that it is a topic that doesn't show up often. You always find books on fire trucks and firemen but never about a fire BOAT! It's a real winner at this house for sure!!

    Wonderfully written to des the events of 9/11 great art

    I like this book to teach young students about the tragedy on 9/11. It helps the reader realize the amount of people that were affected and the teamwork that went into action to help. The illustrations are colorful and gain the readers interest.
