    An Exciting and Engrossing read. Dune Fans Rejoice!

    I am a big fan of the original Dune book series written by its creator Frank Herbert. The story of Dune imperium, set in the year 10,191 introduced fascinating characters both good and evil, a universe of incredible complexity and ancient philosophies that influenced the neo feudal society of the future, where thinking machines and computers are outlawed by the religious decree of an ancient Butlerian Jihad as a result of a century old struggle between man and intelligent machines that turns against their creator. This trilogy takes us back ten thousand years before the events of the original Dune, before the birth of Paul Atreides, Stilgar, Jessica, Thufir Hawat and the evil Baron Vladimir Harkonnen.     i thought this book was an medi-oker tie in to the series. It did take me a while to actually "get in" and start enjoying the series. but once the story started rolling i found myself rather enjoying the book. the writing style isn't as good as the original books by Frank Herbert, but the book was not a total dud either. i would definately recommend reading the other books in the series for a better feel of the story.

    A good book and a great sale

    Really good book, it arrived quickly at the destination. The tale of Serena Butler and the beginning of the Rivalry of the Harkonnons and Atreides. The book take place in distant past of the Dune Universe. Mankind is forced to live on fringe worlds or be forced into slavery by awful Robot master.
