Funny, creative, captivating and beautiful!
C. S. Lewis is a family favorite! The Chronicles of Narnia captures Lewis style well. His creative flare is represented in each character and the Biblical allegory is beautiful. This book series is a great read for both youth and adult. My 13 yr old says she wishes Lewis was still alive to write more books and that she feels like they would be friends.

The Classic Chronicles
This is "The Chronicles of Narnia" like you've never read or seen them before--all in one hardbound set, in the chronological order Lewis preferred that they be read. To top it off, it's beautifully illustrated. "The Chronicles" are C. S. Lewis' beloved children's fantasy series loved also by adults. In them, Lewis chronicles the battle between good and evil, God and the Devil, Aslan the Lion (the Christ Figure) and the White Witch (the Satan Figure). Lewis' turn of a phrase is worth the price of the book with gems describing evil's hold on Narnia as "always Winter but never Christmas" and Aslan's description of his "resurrection" as "magic from before the dawn of time." The stories are beautifully told and captivating in and of themselves. Add to that the subtle allegories, images, and ... This is "The Chronicles of Narnia" like you've never read or seen them before--all in one hardbound set, in the chronological order Lewis preferred that they be read. Great for the whole family!!
This series is truly an amazing read! My father-in-law introduced me to C.S. Lewis' amazing books a few years ago. I have read many of his books and I can honestly say that they are a refreshing breath of air in a polluted world! This book is the second book in a series of 7 fiction fantasy novels, each as good as the first....or maybe even better! My 8 year old daughter and I read this series together and I enjoyed it with childlike delight as much as she did! (coming from a 29 year old mother, that's saying alot!) It's refreshingly original, easy enough to follow for a child, yet interestingly written with detail to keep adults glued to the pages! May I also recommend J.R.R Tolkien who is best known for "Lord of the Rings", and George MacDonald "Princess and Goblin", "Phantastes", ... This series is truly an amazing read! This series is a creative way of telling the Greatest Story ever Told! It is no secret that C.S Lewis was inspired by some of the greatest fantasy authors of our time. A Fantastical Journey for Children & Adults Alike
What can I say, C.S. Lewis had me with my first reading of "The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe" I was so happy when I found out it was part of a seven part series. Lewis was an amazing author and this foray into childrens' books in a wonderful read. I loved it as a kid and loved it even more as an adult. The stories are very well written and a joy to read. If you haven't read this series yet, please do. I do suggest reading the series the way the author wrote them and not in chronological order as this book has them.
