    Although it is out of date, Florence no longer publishes these books and they are the very best as far as pictures, descriptions, history, etc.

    Good first book for beginners.

    This book can be purchased at a great price and it is very informative about makers and patterns. The author also tells what colors were used for each pattern and later reproductions that have been made. Shapes are easily identifiable. I did find that some of the photos lack enough definition in the exact glass patterns shown. It is a good book for general information on depression glass. I believe the authors rephotographed some things in their later editions.

    Get this one

    I'm new to glass collecting. I started collecting on ebay. And soon became lost. This book has totally clued me in. I had purchased a few iBooks which helped a little. But not like this book. Now i can look up complete sets. Even though its dated most of the prices seem to be close to the current mint prices on ebay now. He doesn't include a picture for every single glass piece, but almost. I like that a little extra personal information is included for each set. If you haven't already purchased a glass book, look no further. I wish I hadn't wasted time and money on the others.
