One issue I had was that the smaller pipe did not fit directly to the oil breather port (internal pipe diameter too small). This was solved by leaving a short section of the original pipework (cutting the rest off), which allowed a snug union. The pipe material is far superior to the original BMW part, and should last the lifetime of the vehicle.
