Fantastic communication, excellent packaging and prompt shipping. Detailed explanation of book condition, and in my opinion, even better than described. Price? Tremendous value! Shipping cost? I thought it was a little high till I considered the cost of the packaging material and container to ensure a secure delivery, so appreciated the details to service

    Great Christmas classic

This is my all-time favorite version of A Christmas Carol. It's funny, tells the story extremely well, and Mr. Magoo is perfect for the lead!! Classic favorite from my childhood, it has well withstood the test of time.

  • Mr Magoo's Christmas Carol

As an English teacher I found 'Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol' to be a wonderful way to offer students a creative twist on the classic Dickens tale. This year I wanted my students to see various renditions of the play and learn more about how different director's analyze and present content to an audience. Always engaging, Jim Backus brings to life a modern day glimpse into the protagonist Scrooge. His character, Mr. Magoo, nearsightedly walks into what he thinks is the starring role in his town's local musical-production of 'A CHRISTMAS CAROL'. We see him trying to get to the theater on time, but .....So it is a play within a play, offering a nice balance of humor and drama and I was excited to find it so quickly on e-bay.

  • Excellent Christmas classic!!!!

Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol is a forgotten classic!!!! It's as good IF NOT BETTER then all the other cartoon Christmas classics from the 1960's such as, The Grinch, Charlie Brown, Frosty, Rudolph, etc... Super well drawn / animated. Not like the computer generated cartoon crap that they produce today. Nice vivid colors! If you're not familiar with Mr. Magoo (the voice of Jim Beckus later to be Millionaire Howell on Gilligan's Island), he's a hoot. He can't see too well and always mistakes something for something else. Great adaptation from Charles Dickens classic. Excellent Christmas classic!!!!

  • Simply the Best

The only version of A Christmas Carol that is superior to this one is the 1951 live action version with Alistair Sim. Although they tinker with the plot a tiny bit (the Ghost of Christmas Present shows up first, Scrooge's girlfriend is called Belle rather than Alice for some reason), this is just a charming rendition. The songs, especially "I'm All Alone in the World" for the boy Ebenezer and the aging Scrooge and "Winter was Warm," Belle's lament when she releases Scrooge from their betrothal, are worthy of Broadway. The entire score is far superior to that of any other musical version including the 1970 live-action Scrooge, which was just laughable. The best Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come ever. A charming introduction to the story for children yet ...

  • A Classic Cartoon

Mr. Magoo is a blast from my past, although it always bothered me that he ignored his obvious visual impairment (LOL). As far as this version of A Christmas Carol goes, it is kind of fun to watch, but a bit on the corny side. It is set as a theatrical performance, yet parts of it contain imagery that would be impossible in a theatrical performance. This leaves me feeling confused as to whether Mr. Magoo is acting in a performance, or else he really is Scrooge! OK, perhaps I am taking this thing a bit too serious?! In a cartoon anything goes! My daughter likes it, and I guess that is all that really matters anyway. So, don't expect anything grandiose, let your hair down and just enjoy watching a 60's style cartoon with your own brood (or grand-brood if such is the ...
