I bought this movie for several reasons. I am a Western genre fan, I like Sam Elliot and Katherine Ross and it helps to know they are real life husband and wife and got to team up for a romantic role in this movie. The story line is top notch and the authenticity aspect is excellent. Something that is lacking in a lot of Western films. Sam Elllot's character (Conagher) even carries a Smith and Wesson Russian model revolver. Something seldom seen in western films but very authentic. The excitement, drudgery, danger and romance of a frontier existence are all showcased in this film. The supporting cast is excellent also with an appearance by one of my favorites in western genre Ken Curtis. I would not consider a western film collection complete without this movie. Afterall to the rest ...

Great seller, price is very affordable and Conagher is one of the best Western's I have ever watched. Louis A'mour was an incredible write and I give his family all the honor and credit they do deserve. Katherine Ross is also an incredible address, beautiful, brave, and both Elliott and Ross pour they heart into these roles, without complaint. I recommment the movie to anyone, guys and girls...........nothing to keep from the children, it's very clean, a few slang words but is very morally watchful for any age. Get it while you can. Sam, Katherine, we are looking forward to more of your great talent. What an era to live in, hard, YES, but beautiful and will make you appreciate what we have now.......they show us how to choke it up in grace, work and dignity. Enjoy!!

  • Conagher DVD

I have always been a BIG Sam Elliott fan and also a huge fan of Louis L'Amour. This western was one of the finest I'd ever read, my favorite by Louis L'Amour. The movie was quick to become my favorite western of all time, and was true to the book in every way. Sam Elliott is the consummate actor for the cowboy genre, as he has always been in every such role he has played. The part of the leading lady in Conagher was played by Katherine Ross, who is Elliott's wife in real life. This was a nice touch, and she is a fine actress. I highly recommend this movie (and the book!) to anyone who loves stories about the old West.

  • Conagher

This is a Western love story about a rough cowboy and a widow with two children. The story has adventure, action, suspense and humor as Conagher fights nearly single handedly against rustlers, gunmen, weather, and indians. Infatuated by the messages he has found tied to tumble weeds, Conagher is torn between his need to be free and his fantasy of finding a true love in his life. Throughout the book, Conagher represents the epitomy of the Western Cowboy; always ready to fight for what is right and always showing respect and concern for women and children. I fell in love with the movie and I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I highly recommend this classic to any one capable of reading.
