      Planes to model

      If you love weird and unusual aircraft then the Focke-Wulf Fw-189 is the book for you. It’s an ugly yet beautiful looking aircraft which fits the purpose it was built for! If you are an avid r/c modeler there is a set of plans for this plane on E-Bay. Show up at the flying field with one of these and you’ll be the hot hit of the runway! Not only is this book useful in building it but it’s an educational read to boot! I highly recommend this and it makes a great addition to your aircraft book collection.

      Focke-Wulf Fw 189 in Action by George Punka

      This is one of the ubiquitous Squadron/Signal publications that fill an important gap in aviation literature. Particularly useful for those needing a reference guide when constructing scale models of the subject named in the title, George Punk’s book provides an in depth illustrated review of the Focke Wulf 189 reconnaissance aircraft used by Germany during the second world war. I enjoyed the color plates in the centre of the book showing various color schemes and camouflage used on the various fronts during the war and used them to good effect when constructing my model. The detail drawings were also helpful when identifying various inaccuracies in the model kit I was building at the time. The aviation enthusiast will want to add this book to their collection, as it's almost the only game ...

      A quick read

      The book was informative and had many pictures but lacked details. There are no stories to give the reader some insight to how the plane did in a combat situation. The book was rather short as well. Overall not a bad book, just leaves the reader wanting more.
