Received wheel as described. Wheel was repackaged for shipping but not packaged very well. The protective cover was bunched up in bottom of box. No bubble wrap or any paper inside. Was just loose wheel inside box. Would have been better if packaged to prevent damage. Shippers don’t care about damage. Items need to be packaged with this in mind. Fortunately the wheel arrived without issue. Recommend seller. Just do better with your packaging.

Well built retro pedal. Recommended as a good retro pedal, not recommended for touring in wet conditions.

These pedals look good with their shiny polished finish and retro rat-trap design. they work with toe clips, but still grip very well thanks to the serrations. The cup and cone bearings come out of the box well-adjusted, unlike most other pedals that come ridiculously overtightned. The only weakness in these pedals is the lack of sealing, which seems rather imprtant for a touring bike. For a retro pedal, however, that is excusable, since vintage bike parts don't generally come with good sealing. Great choice (I'd say one of the best if retro-looking is important to you) all-around for your vintage/retro road bike.

Pretty pedal, but not very grippy

I have a bike built up on a Surly Pacer frame and it’s made of small-diameter chromemoly tubes which dictates a vintage Schwinn road bike aesthetic, hence my purchase of these pedals. I’m a very casual, recreational rider, not very athletic anymore-- so I can “get away” with this pedal. It is slippery compared to your typical “shin burger” screw-studded platform pedal. I used to have a dual-sided Shimano M324 SPD/flat pedal and the flat side of the Shimano was grippier and more comfortable than the MKS, although it was sometimes inconvenient to find the flat side. On the plus side, the MKS Sylvan pedal aces the vintage aesthetic I was after, and is beautiful to look at and decorates my Surly and works well enough for me, but I doubt it would be suitable for anybody who has even halfway ...

  • Great deal

Nice vintage looking and very comfortable. They do not have the best bearings, you can notice it when you have them in hand, but it is hardly noticeable once mounted on the bike. Let's see how they age but this is definitely a great value for the price.

  • Shiny slip insurance.

I love half toe clips! These are so shiny too!! They look so good doing their job.

  • Perfect size for my needs.

My bike came with the MKS rat pedals and I found them a tad too small for my taste. These made a world a difference in my riding comfort.
