About this product

Product Information

The first follow-up to Road to Hill 30 returns players to World War II, in the new role of U.S. Army Sergeant Joe "Red" Hartsock. Players will witness the D-day invasion at Normandy first-hand, thorugh Hartsock's eyes, before pressing forward to Carentan and beyond. Once again, the game calls on virtual squad leaders to organize the men beneath them to operate as a team; instead of hell-bent running and gunning, soldiers must work together to recon their surroundings, provide cover fire, and pin down the enemy, before they move in for the final kill. This teamwork is well served by a sense of camaraderie, which can be developed through the game's RPG-style aspects.

Aside from the setting and characters, new features in Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood include weapons such as the M3 "grease gun" and vehicles like the M10 "Wolverine" Tank Destroyer. The enemy has access to new resources as well, however, and refined enemy A.I. is designed to pose at least a much a challenge as in Road to Hill 30. Earned in Blood also introduces a same-screen cooperative mode and expanded online multiplayer support. As in the development of the first Brothers in Arms game, developer Gearbox elicited input from real-life veterans, including Airborne Ranger Col. John Antal, in its effort to create a historically accurate World War II setting.

  • Not bad FPS - video interludes a little boring

Brothers in Arms is a pretty good FPS. Focusses more on you managing your squads, than actual FPS action. But still plenty of action for your trigger fingers. I will admit the sighting for this games weapons is a little goofy, and it takes several kill shots to get the enemy to die. But hey if all the war FPS's were written the same way they would get boring. SO hats off to the BIA franchise for keeping things interesting. Aw come on try it - just keep your thinking cap on when playing and you will have a great time. Ran great on my Vista 64 OS and the Sony Vaio FW370 laptop.

  • Most realistic FPS *ever* created - by former US Marine

Put simply, this game is the finest video game ever made. It goes without saying that it's the best FPS on the market - and that statement includes the time between here and its release date. It's amazing, because of the squad tactics and the unique system the game has for you to command your two fire times. The tactics are PRECISELY what I've *literally* used in the real world to survive urban firefights and the experience is so viscerally similar to actual combat that it illicits the fear-focus physical changes that you experience in real life. This is AS CLOSE as you will get to actual combat. I bought this eBay item to make sure I had a MINT condition 2nd copy of that game just in case my primary copy ever dies. THAT'S how good this game is.

  • A Must, for Any Gamer

Brothers to Arms:Earned in Blood is a great game that challenges you as a gamer. This new Brothers to Arms is online and can play with one or two players. The game is also rated M for Blood and Gore, Intense Violence and Strong Language. Unlike the first one, the german soilders will try to flank you, assult you and they will move from cover to cover to get a better shot at you. The game also has a new co-op skirmish mode. But, the game is like a copy of the original with some new guns, smart germans and the skirmish mode, but, you play as Hartsock not Baker. But, the game is one of the best WWII games I have ever played.

  • Brothers in arms: Earned.... no not earned regurgitated

Very basic game. No obvious improvements in game play over original (hill 30). even on the hardest setting it was realitively simple. History info you are awarded after each mission was enjoyable though. Enjoyable for the first hour or two but very little replayability. Online game is again not very good. Decent maps but there is really zero security against hacks and exploiters even with punkbuster. One shot kills happen 8 out of 10 times. It is a decent game for younger people or someone just looing to waste a bit of time. HIGHLY recommend Battlefield 2 and the newish 2142
